University Senate

The University Senate, presided by the Vice Chancellor, is the University’s highest deliberative body; its membership includes faculty, student, administrator, and international academic volunteer representatives.

These offices and organizations collectively constitute the leadership and university-wide governance structures.

The University Senate is the deliberative entity for discussing university-wide policies and proposed changes to university practices and organizational structure. The Senate prioritizes academic programs and structure, personnel and budgetary policies, facility development, and community, professional, and educational relations of the University when setting its agenda.

Liberal Studies is distinguished by its global, interdisciplinary curriculum and small classes. It is composed of Global Liberal Studies (GLS), a three year bachelor’s degree program that roots undergraduate study in global, interdisciplinary, and experiential learning

The Institute of Fine Arts is a center for graduate teaching and advanced research in the history of art, archaeology and technology of works of art. The Institute offers degrees of Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy, an Advanced Certificate in Conservation of Works of Art and Certificate in Curatorial Studies issued jointly with the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
